Either you or your child needs glasses. What does each insurance policy reimburse?

Basic health insurance does not include coverage for glasses and contact lenses for adults. Some basic policies may cover a portion of the costs in the event of a specific illness.

For children up to until the age of 18, compulsory insurance reimburses CHF 180 per year for spectacles glasses/contact lenses upon presentation of a prescription from an ophthalmologist.

Should I take out supplemental insurance?

We advise you to take out supplemental insurance in order to obtain coverage for anything not covered by basic health insurance.
