The coronavirus disease is particularly dangerous for persons over 65 years of age and those already suffering from a disease. A person is considered to be at risk if he or she suffers from one of these diseases:
- high blood pressure
- cardiovascular diseases
- chronic respiratory diseases
- weakened immunity due to disease or therapy
Follow these rules to protect others as well as yourself:
- Keep your distance as much as possible (1.5 metres if possible) when you are in a group of people (public transport, shops, work, etc.).
- Wash your hands carefully and as often as possible.
- Avoid physical contact when greeting others (no handshakes, kisses, etc.).
- Cough or sneeze into your elbow or into a tissue and throw it away as soon as possible in a dustbin.
If you are directly impacted by the crisis, please contact us on 0848 803 111 for a payment arrangement or to extend the deadline.
As with other laboratory tests, Coronavirus screening tests are covered by insurance, less the deductible and co-insurance amounts, if they have been prescribed by an approved doctor.
According to the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the priority is to wash your hands thoroughly. Therefore, hand disinfectant gel is not refunded as a means of prevention.
Treatments recognised by the compulsory health insurance (LAMal/KVG) cover treatments related to the Coronavirus. Therefore, you are covered by compulsory health insurance in case of illness abroad. This coverage also applies in the event of being placed in quarantine in a hospital abroad.
If you have subscribed to Mundo, this insurance also covers a number of additional costs up to CHF 100,000 per calendar year.
