What is acute care?

Acute care facilities are all hospitals and clinics that offer basic and specialist general care (e.g. internal medicine, surgery, orthopaedics or gynaecology).

How to understand the results of your search?

If the type of care (acute care, rehabilitation or psychiatry) is highlighted in green with a pictogram [ ✓ ], the facilities are recognised for this type of care and the coverage of hospitalisation costs in the semi-private or private ward is guaranteed (subject to compliance with the other general terms and conditions of insurance).
If the type of care (acute care, rehabilitation or psychiatry) is highlighted in red with a pictogram [ X ], the facilities are not recognised for this type of care and the coverage of hospitalisation costs in the semi-private or private ward will be limited to the maximum amounts stipulated in your general terms and conditions of insurance.
If the type of care (acute care, rehabilitation or psychiatry) is highlighted in orange with a pictogram [ ! ], please click on the link “Find out more” for more details on the status of these facilities for this type of care.
