New pricing structure

Information for therapists

From April 2026, Groupe Mutuel will make changes to its reimbursement policy for alternative medicine therapies, with a clear goal: to further improve the quality of treatments and to limit premium increases.

Working towards standardised pricing practices

Groupe Mutuel is introducing a new pricing structure for alternative and complementary medicine benefits billed under tariff 590.

In light of constantly rising healthcare costs, this measure will ensure that supplemental insurance benefits are managed effectively and aims to limit premium increases.
For benefits provided from 10 April 2026 onwards, this pricing structure will define the maximum rates and maximum treatment durations recognised for each benefit.

By implementing new regulations, Groupe Mutuel aims to promote higher education and thereby maximise the quality of care provided to patients.

* Kinesiology (1060), art therapy (1217), audio-psycho-phonology/Tomatis (1014), rebalancing (1093), oxygen therapy (1099).

**  All therapies not included in the other three categories
(e.g. acupuncture (1004), homeopathy (1057)).

If several therapies are combined in the same session, the maximum duration of the entire session corresponds to the longest maximum duration of the therapies practised. For example, for a session that includes acupuncture (maximum one hour) and Tui-Na/An-Mo (maximum one hour), the entire session may not exceed one hour.
The applicable rate for each five-minute increment is that defined in the table of reimbursements provided above.

What do these limits mean?

  • The prices and durations shown represent the maximum limits that are recognised by Groupe Mutuel. The insurance company reimburses benefits based on these amounts.
  • As a therapist, it is your responsibility to inform your patients if you exceed these limits.
  • If you charge above the limits, the difference will be payable by the insured person.
  • This measure ensures a clear, consistent and fair framework for all service providers.
