Running to start the day

Wake up a little earlier than usual, put on your trainers and set off into the quiet streets for an untimed 5km run… This is the simple but effective concept behind “Wake Up and Run”. Sponsored by Groupe Mutuel, this event encourages you to get moving, all together, in a friendly atmosphere, without a stopwatch and just for the pleasure of (re)discovering your city in the early hours. It's an ideal way to give your body and mind a moment of well-being by doing a simple activity, spontaneously and without any special organisation.

Physical activity in the morning: a habit full of benefits

Exercising in the morning has many positive effects on our physical and mental health. Exercise activates the metabolism, oxygenates the body and releases endorphins, i.e. the famous “happy hormones”. As a result, you feel more energetic, more focused and calmer to face the challenges of the day. Incorporating gentle physical activity in the morning is also an excellent way of regulating sleep, reducing stress and boosting the immune system.

And that's exactly what “Wake Up and Run” is all about: there's no need to perform, and you don't even have to be a great athlete to enjoy it. The important thing is to move at your own pace, respecting your own abilities. The format, with no stopwatch and no race number, puts the focus on the pleasure of running and well-being.

A time for sharing and togetherness

As well as the health benefits, a morning's activity with someone offers a real opportunity for sharing. Taking part in an event like “Wake Up and Run”, or getting together with friends, neighbours or colleagues, all in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, is guaranteed to be a good time. This activity could even become a motivating ritual that will put a smile on your face before you start the day.

It's a chance to discover your surroundings in a different way, in a peaceful atmosphere, before the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As far as “Wake Up and Run” is concerned, the organisers' promise is to offer an accessible urban route that highlights the local settings and environment.

Wake Up and Run: a sustainable and responsible approach

The “Wake Up and Run” project isn't just about running: it's also about respecting the environment and your health. At the end of the 5km run, participants will enjoy a healthy, local and eco-responsible breakfast. It consists of fruit and regional products (all in reduced packaging). The concept is designed to extend the experience of well-being to the plate.

The organisers are also encouraging people to use soft modes of transport (bicycle, public transport) to get to the event, thereby reinforcing the sustainable aspect of the event. This initiative is fully in line with Groupe Mutuel's values of global health, prevention and sustainability.

Groupe Mutuel, a partner of “Wake Up and Run”

By supporting “Wake Up and Run” and physical activity in general, Groupe Mutuel is reaffirming its commitment to promoting a healthy, active and balanced lifestyle. Through this event, your overall insurer wants to encourage good habits. In addition, if you are insured with Groupe Mutuel, you can take advantage of a 50% discount on registration for the “Wake Up and Run” event of your choice in 2025.
