Termination

Since you did not terminate your coverage with your old insurance, we will automatically receive this information from them. We will therefore terminate your basic insurance contract for the current year.
Please re-apply in writing for the following year, as postponement is not automatic.

This procedure is possible provided that the supplemental insurance policies you have taken out with Groupe Mutuel provide the same benefits as the supplemental health insurance plans with your other health insurer.
If this is the case, you will have to ask your other health insurance company for an additional certificate of insurance. This document must mention the insurance branches and the dates of signature.
If all these conditions are met, send us the certificate indicating whether you wish to postpone the effective date of the contract or terminate coverage.

Before you can terminate a basic insurance contract, you must have paid all your current invoices before 31 December of the year in question (premiums and co-insurance amounts), unless the due date of an invoice leaves you more time. Article 64(a) LAMal/KVG applies to persons who are in arrears with their payments and therefore cannot terminate their basic insurance for the end of the year in question.

To terminate your insurance, you must send a termination request to your insurer by registered letter, within the legal deadlines. Comments on basic health insurance (compulsory health insurance):
In order for your termination to be accepted, you must have paid all premiums and co-insurance amounts before the contract expires.
If you leave another insurer to join Groupe Mutuel, we will send a certificate of affiliation to your current insurer.

In the case of basic insurance with freedom of choice (standard model) and the statutory deductible (CHF 300 for adults/CHF 100 for children):
The termination request must be received in writing and sent by registered mail no later than 31 March for termination on 30 June, or no later than 30 November for termination on 31 December.

With an optional deductible (CHF 500, CHF 1,000, CHF 1,500, CHF 2,000 and CHF 2,500 for adults / CHF 200, CHF 300, CHF 400, CHF 500 and CHF 600 for children) or an alternative insurance model (family doctor, network of doctors, etc.):
The termination of these forms of insurance is only possible for the end of a calendar year.
The termination request must be received in writing by the insurer no later than 30 November for a termination by 31 December.

If the last day of the month of notice corresponds to a holiday or weekend, please ensure that your application is received by your insurer no later than the last working day of the month concerned.

To terminate supplemental insurance, you must give one, three or six months’ notice (depending on the conditions of each supplemental insurance) for the end of a year. The letter must be sent by registered mail. You will only be able to terminate your insurance at the end of the contractual period of one year, five years or eight years (depending on the conditions of the supplemental insurance).
If the last day of the month of notice corresponds to a holiday or weekend, please ensure that your application is received by your insurer no later than the last working day of the month concerned.
